Boat has nice lines, but does the
interior setup suit your mission? Do you really need a dinette? Is the
galley a bit far forward for using under way? That could make
cooking more exciting than you'd like, sometimes. Cold
meals with icebergs around...not fun. Where are people going to sleep under way on each tack? The v-berth won't be tenable in many conditions. The shipyard drawing shows an offset
companionway hatch, which can be considered dangerous in knockdowns. The offset also increases
cockpit volume (not a good thing if you take a wave) and there's only a minimal bridge
deck. The information on the builder's site mentions nothing about
insulation. Sprayed foam seems to be "the" thing for metal
boats heading 'way North or South. If it, or any
insulation, isn't done properly,
condensation will cause rust everywhere you can't see.
We (and you) need to know more about this design. Have you been aboard one?
