Hi. I'm new to the Forum and just getting back into sailing after an absence of a few years.
I am poised to conclude a
sale --
purchasing a 1964
Pearson Aries. The
boat has a series of numbers carved into the beam between the main and the forward cabins.
I thought it was a CG
documentation number, but a call to the Coast Guard revealed that the string is too long. Could it be a state
registration number? I've spoken with someone in Illinois where the
boat was based and that does not seem to be an option.
The carved items are: NO 531952 NET 6
I'm thinking that perhaps this goes all the way back to
Pearson in the 60s. Does any of this look familiar? The typical
registration on the outside of the
hull at the bow is missing on this boat..
Thanks. Wiotaman
