One of the boats that I find appealing that is relatively low cost (used), made in UK, widely available in the UK (with multiple units from which to choose), and seems roomy for its length, and seems good for coastal cruising (and some may go beyond that), is the Westerly Centaur 26.
I learned about this boat from the recommendations of Boatman61, one of the very experienced long distance sailors on this forum. He recommends it highly based on his personal experience with them.
