Price for Dodger on a Benateau 343

I'm looking at buying a 2006 Benateau 343 but it doesn't have a dodger or Bimini. I'd like to get one built/installed and wondering if anyone here has done so and could let me know cost?

The boat is very nice but missing some sort of protection for the cockpit is a big deal for me.

I'd guesstimate 5 to 7 grand depending on options and materials used. The website I'll attach has an estimator that gets close. Last time I had new dodger made it was $3500 for just the canvas using existing frame. California dodger with opening windscreen and upgraded clear plastics for side windows. Most are sunbrella but there are various window options both stiff and flexible that vary the cost.

She seems to have a really wide cockpit, and will need a really wide dodger using 1" or 1.25" diameter SS tubing. The present cost of SS is shocking.

Without measuring, I'd say $6-8k. Make sure you look at some of the shop's previous work on similar boats. I fix plenty of work from other local shops, which almost always results in the end price being significantly higher than if I was hired to do the job instead of fix it later.

I built my own Dodger and Bimini with a machine from sailrite (1300$ LSZ-1). I used the machine on sunbrella and zippers and windows with existing 316 SS and miscellaneous webbing and hardware for about 1500$.

Never sewed any projects before, but now my family calls me Betsy Ross.

It's going to depend on the location. Probably $8,000 in the Carolinas to $10k + in the Pacific Northwest or Florida.

The vast majority of the cost is labor. It's a time consuming process and the more accessible the boat is the better. You want make sure that the individual doing the work can test the fit and make modifications before you pay them in full.

Just got a quote for a bimini, dodger, and connector piece for my B343 in Fort Myers. $5200 just for the canvas work. I just about choked on that.

Try Island Nautical. Last 30 years I've had two dodgers from them. Very reasonably priced. They used to be in NY but sold/moved to Florida. Nothing fancy but decent quality and you will have to fit your own grommets. Mine last about 15 years before the fabric gives out. Frame is still good after 30 years.
