Plan on the V Berth for storage, and sleep in the cabin on the settees. Odds are you wont be able to stretch out in the V berth anyways on small boats. I have a Cape Dory 28 and barely have enough room to lay stretched out in my V berth at 5' 11". When looking at small boats I would view the cabin settees or even the cabin floor as the sleeping area. I take off my settee cushions and put them on the cabin floor if its rolly. Thats the lowest point of the boat and central. It will have the least motion in all directions. The "V" in "V Berth stands for VOMIT.

I hadn't heard that..thank you for the information...my only
experience with sleeping on a boat comes from a
cruise ship.
