Re: Please help identify this boat.

Based on the masts on the thing, it's got to be a schooner. Doh! There are two boats in that picture.....

Serious answer coming soon! I recognize some features, just need to check at photos.

Re: Please help identify this boat.

Islander 28, possibly.

OK, I might take this guess back. Similar, but the Islander 28's seem to all have a window hatch in the cabin near the V-berth, no matter which year they were made.

Re: Please help identify this boat.

I've looked at all the obvious posibilities, I think, and I can't find it...

Catalina, Cal, C&C Pearson, Triton, Bristol, Coronado, Islander. It says its a 26'er. I'm hoping the guy advertising it responds soon to my email. By looking at the forward part of the coach roof, I think its a mid to Late '70's boat, bout I'm not certain.

Thanks for the guidance, I hope someone knows...

Re: Please help identify this boat.

Thanks! I never would have found it.

I'll send you a quart of MOTORKOTE if you like. The stuff is amazing, and I've used it in my semi for over a million miles. It's a hyper-lubricant that treats metals and reduces friction. It works.

Just msg me with an address to send it to.

Re: Please help identify this boat.

Cool, I never win anything!! Though I was hinting for a sail, but I see you are too far away.

I was wrong about hunt though, he passed in 78-79?? The boats were first manufactured in 77 I think. The designer was at hunts firm, John Deknatel.

Re: Please help identify this boat.

Thanks for the information about the Manufacturer and the Model, I would never have found it. I've been reading about them in different forums and even their owners group. I am uncertain if this boat would suit my desires. It seems to be an coastal cruiser more than a bluewater boat, oh well.

I continue to look.....

Re: Please help identify this boat.

Their pretty strong, but would need beefing up for any hard core blue water. But any boat her age, blue water or not, she would need new chain plates, seacocks, keel dropped/inspected etc anyways. You could make her your own. But there are plenty of fishes in the sea! And in this economy, it's a buyers market for boats in your size market.
IMHO 😄
Cheers.

I wouldn't take it, after a million miles, that quart is probably getting worn out already...
