Passport 42 Information

I am reviewing a decision and possible boat purchase...just a bit hesitant at the moment, so trying to get as much information as possible to either go ahead or decide to walk away.

Designed by Stan Huntingford
Similar to the Slocum 43
Canoe stern (similar to the Valiant 40)

Keen to hear from current sailors and previous owners what their experiences have been, what they like and did not or would want to change. any information would help.

And if you want to knock it tell me why.

Howdy!

Make sure you read this thread, and see the list of variants mentioned.

Also, there was a CF Member named "PASSPORT 42" as I recall.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Re: Passport 42 Information

Hi Steadman

Yes I have been doing internet searches for the last couple of weeks, been through that one as well. Will do the PASSPORT 42 user search...
Thanks for the pointers!

Re: Passport 42 Information

Hi Steadman, just to say I bought the P42, in partnership with a guy who owns a P40- he was impressed by the layout and condition, so we jumped at it. The yacht is in Raiatea, so not that easy to access, but in a good nick. Needs some work- as always. Currently we have purchased everything for a complete electronic equipment upgrade. Planning for fitment in April, with some cruising planned thereafter.
