Took our RIB out the other night for a paddle around the Marina. It was funny since we saw a Pearson Triton that James Baldwin had refit for a guy out here. Her name was Catalyst and I had watched the refit videos awhile ago. Beautiful boat

Hatches are looking good! I know how much time and effort that all shows! I remain very jealous that you have a trailer, yard space and a shop! Right now that sounds like heaven given all I'd like to do too!

laid some epoxy around the edges and filled some gaps. Can I just say I'm not looking forward to painting after all the glasswork lol.

This will sound strange but it works. If you view the picture on your computer from file explorer and it displays correctly but when you upload it, it is rotated try this. Notice which way the pic needs to rotate on the forum, then go to the pic on you computer and rotate it in the direction that would correct it on the forum. Save and close the picture. Reopen the pic on your computer and rotate it back to the correct upright position and close the picture.
Now, try and upload it to the forum. This works 99% of the time for me. I can't explain why it works. I stumbled onto the method by trial and error.

We haven't made too much progress lately, been on the water. Playing with our new RIB as we finally got our Honda outboard tuned up and pulled out of the garage. The RIB is AMAZING by the way and such a nice upgrade from the Costco inflatable or the 30-year-old Zodiac my wife had.

Anyway, we purchased a Plastimo Contest 130 based on the recommendations from you all and are very pleased so far with the feel and finish of it. I had to cut out a backer for it and plan to epoxy that in place. Used 3/4'' marine ply and the jug saw. Sadly I cannot find my Makita belt sander (think it was stolen at the last boatyard) so I had to sand it by hand.

here are the two pictures I took, tomorrow Lord willing I will get the fiberglass cut and get the thing mounted.

Tell you what, once we get her in the water if you want to borrow the trailer or maybe even NewHaul you guys are welcome to. Our yard space is a storage lot haha. Don't have room to park it next to the garage anymore but shes been by our rental for the last few weeks doing work without too much complaint from the neighborhood.

We remain very jealous of you and that you're actually able to sail your boat right now. We sailed the SF bay last week and were reminded just how much we enjoy it and miss just being on the water.


*ALERT* There is a lady selling a Columbia 29 down here in Dana Point Marina! I went aboard, its got the dinette layout and a very low hour diesel. It needs some TLC but certainly a beautiful project.

I was just up there on the Bay last weekend, and drove past where the boat was first built, and thinking how our boats were first designed with the bay and Bear boats in mind... maybe ya oughta make the bay the first place to try her out when she’s ready?

noted! The boat is on the way to being done. Getting measured for dodger frame, getting quotes for a bottom job, topside paint, non-skid. Scheduled for the remaining carpenter time, were going to start staining over the next couple weeks. Looking to buy a fridge like the arb or dometic and some anchor chain, got fabric for new cushions and trying to get her in the water in the next 45 days or less.

Got our slip today, found a spot we really liked and didn't want to lose it.
