Re: Painting BEFORE Transport - CA to OR

A thought: the major work in bottom painting is the prep... rolling on the anti-foul is pretty easy and quick. So, you might consider having your low cost folks do the prep (possibly for the topsides as well, I suppose) and waiting until after delivery for the final application(s).

Re: Painting BEFORE Transport - CA to OR

Hello all. Reporting back as promised. Boat was trucked from Lake Ontario to Charleston SC (approx 1000 miles). Prior to trucking had the yard apply three coats of Petit Hydrocoat ECO. No damage as a result of the trip; there was some minor abrading of the paint at some of the trailer's support pad locations which required a one coat touch up with a chip brush. Very pleased with the outcome and would do it again.
