Ocean Yachts 45

Hey everyone. My partner and I have been looking for a sailboat in Australia between 38-45ft for a while now and we just noticed this boat for sale:

https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/ocean-yachts-swedish-ocean-cruiser-45/247588

But after having a look around I can't find many details on this type of boat at all, does anyone have any experience with them?

It looks and sounds great but I'd really appreciate any input from anyone who's familiar!

Thanks!

Towley she seems a bit pricey for a 30 year old yacht. How old is the standing rigging? Is the engine 2000 or 8000 hours? 2.3 meters of draft will keep you on your toes in Queensland. Overall she looks tidy in the photos.
Cheers

Hey thanks for the reply, I totally agree with you that the price is steep and I wouldn't be interested without some good haggling.

I'm more just after any info on the boat and if anyone has sailed one/knows anything about the manufacturer.

Thanks!

I know Swedish. Was on my short list few years ago before purchasing my Contest 43. Swedish are excellent boats, very well built for serious offshore cruising. The price (US$135,000) is actually quite reasonable, if the boat is in a good shape - as it looks. Just look at the comps offering of Hallberg-Rassy, Najad, Malo, Contest, Oyster etc. Well maintained boats of this size and years are usually offered for a higher prices.

Re: Ocean Yachts 45

It doesn’t look like a Swedish built boat. And it’s not a Sweden Yacht 45. Here is that model: https://www.swedenyachts.se/sweden-yachts-45/

But even though it might be a one-off it looks nice and well kept.
