Re: NOT running diesel under load anxiety

Getting it up to temp ain’t as easy as it may sound. When under load and under way, our Westerbeke 55B normal operating temperature is indicated at about 185 F. Our winters here in Texas are fairly mild compared to the rest of the country- 40 degrees is cold for us. Running the engine in the winter at the dock in neutral rarely indicates a temp above 130F. Last week, running under load for an hour- it’s been cool by our standards- the max reading barely reached 140F. The heat exchanger was boiled out about 15 hours ago.
