Not quite buyers remorse.

Well all. I am a boat owner once again. Here is what I got;

1966 Alberg A35. She is in good condition.

Currently I am looking to find a slip in Bradenton, FL, or the surrounding area. Yes, I would like to be a live-aboard.

The only issue is in getting insurance, so I can get a slip. A great situation would be a widow that either the kids don't visit or she doesn't have any, and I could rent from her. As part of the rent I would come by multiple times a week to keep her company. Everyone need someone to talk to.

If you feel the need...Let the trolling begin.

Congrats!

Don’t you have a motor for all your trolling needs?

That would depend on his age, health etc.
At 78, I can still "troll".

Re: Not quite buyers remorse.

So……the problem is that you cannot get insurance on a boat that old?
Or you cannot get a live aboard slip and that transient state makes insurance impossible?

Why the lonely widow? So you can trade face time in lieu of rent? I imagine most widows in Florida with waterfront homes plus boat jetty are the belle of the local yacht club, bridge club, church etc.

And they probably have a dog, dogs are the best companions.

Re: Not quite buyers remorse.

That's a nice dream the OP has about finding a widow he could rent a slip from!

Geez.

If there were a widow with a slip available, the fact that you want to be a live-aboard almost rules you out from the get go.

Plus, I'm thinking rent for a private slip in Florida that far South would come at a premium rate quite a bit above your average marina.

As far as insurance, maybe you can get liability insurance like the rest of us with old boats.
