New to sailing

Hi Everyone,

First off, I'm very new to sailing. I took a sailing course last summer and fell in love with it. I have since bought a C&C 30 MKI, it is stored away for winter. I plan to work on gaining some sailing experience and sail my boat from Maine to New Brunswick in June. I would like to gain some advice on safely making the boat ready, such as equipment and rigging the boat.
My list of upgrades is low, I think it may need expanding, so far I have;

Bottom paint
Batteries
Paint Mast
Repair Mast step
Radar
Radar Reflector
Chartplotter
LED Mast light
Replace Thru Hulls

If anyone could chime in on appropriate equipment that is sutible for the size of boat (especially the electronics) that would allow the boat to be out for multi days, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for any help.

Re: New to sailing

Hi , welcome to CF and the life style . Because I have no idea what your area is like I will share what worked for me in my area .
Bottom paint , I like Z Spar B-90
Batts. Trojan T105 6v , we also have a 100w solar panel
Paint mast , I used Interlux Brightsides (single part)
Maststep, depends on what you need to do with it . SS, Alum.? Weld ?
Radar, If you are installing new you are in luck the price has come way down
Chartploter same thing as radar if you are going to get both they have combination screen units also you might look into AIS and a hand held GPS as back up .
LED mast light , do that when you take the mast off for paint
Thru hull seacocks lots of choices there , Bronze? composite? SS ball ?
Lastly I would recommend a good yard . Good luck and keep us posted !
