New Sailing Toy to Play with

Picked up this clean Bolger 20 Chebacco with new sails, trailer and nissan 4hp for a good price, it was so beautiful that I could not resist buying it. Plan on sailing it around the harbor for fun. Have not sailed it yet, but I am looking forward to it. My big boat will always be my priorty, but why not enjoy yet another boat too if I can. What does any one think? Any one familar with a boat like this? I must be insane because this will be four boats that I currently own.

Good Heavens NO! My Morgan has minimal varnish and the other two boats are power boats. I thought about the work involved in keeping this one looking good and am willing to stay on top of it. It also came with a new high dollar canvas cover to keep it out of the UV's. I mainly bought it to try it out and have fun, at the same time keep it for sale to turn a profit on it (I do alot of that sort of stuff). The beauty of this one is, it's easy to trailer and set up at a boat ramp. I don't want to keep it floating behind my house because it has no bottom paint and I want to keep it that way.

Re: New Sailing Toy to Play with

looks like cornish crabber

should be a delight to sail often thought about getting something like this but all the woodwork would need re-doing every year and there's the hour upon hour spent varnishing / sanding / revarnishing just to get it looking like the mutts nuts

4 boats ????? -- you live in house don't you ? and does your house flood often which is why you need to have a boat permanently in your driveway

have much fun

That's a sweet looking boat. I've been thinking about getting something small trailerable and sexy as a second boat, although I think id go power.
