"New" Allmand 35

Good morning,

I've made the plunge. Just picked up a 1984 new to me Allmand 35 tri cabin. 132 hours on the Yahmar. Now to find a way to get it from Mobile to Fort Myers between tropical storms.

My current boat is a 22 FT that I use on the lakes of Minnesota. I have rented 42 and 50 FT boats while on vacation and ASA 104 certified.

Tom.

Congratulations ! I had an '84 too, nice boat.. Mine was on the Chesapeake, the couple I sold her to sailed her to Georgia and they started a owners group, they have since sold the boat and moved on. My only complaint was the water tank in the keel, bad design.

Re: "New" Allmand 35

Thanks for all the welcomes.

What was it about he water tank in the keel you didn't like?

One of the main purposes of PeaceMaker is to help me figure out what I like and don't like about it for when I buy my next boat. I picked it up at a reasonable price and it is well equipped and recently refitted nearly top to bottom.

Thanks for all your help

The waterway between there and Appleachacola is pretty nice. Not too bad a trip across from there.

Congrats, enjoy the trip!

Prone to leaking. Some people put a bladder tank inside, some fill it with concrete.
