My first cruiser!

I just bought my First sailboat for $300 bucks. I barely got it it home! Came off the ball - thankfully i had the chains on! The tires lost some chuncks but i made it! She is a 1976 S2 7.0 with SN m76c. The interior has been gutted and new floor and most plywood replaced and that's it. Planning on going all red oak interior because I have a saw mill and I have cured slabs ready to be mill and routed. Came with a few good looking sails, nice cushions and new plastic for the windows. Going to set it up for the spring of 2025 hopefully! Any words of wisdom or guidance would be helpful. Stay tuned as I update as much as possible... wish me luck!

Very cool and congrats on making it home unscathed! Raced on my brother’s S2 7.9 for years, they are well made boats and I am sure you will have fun sailing yours!

That's awesome, and looks like in great condition, for only $300?? That's a steal!

Re: My first cruiser!

Congrats on the boat. My first stop on the way home with mine was the tire shop for 3 new meats for the trailer.

Mine had a broken cockpit drain hose that flooded the cabin and made a mess of the keel framing.

Here is my project boat thread, hoping yours is better shape to start and you are on the water soon!

Re: My first cruiser!

Really?! Thank you... I thought so but wasn't sure. I walked and climb then banged and tapped for close to an hour before pulling the trigger!
