My apologies

I want to apologize to anyone I offended with my excitement over the possibility of buying a boat. I have wanted a boat for a long time and when one comes into the picture and looks like it is going to work I get ahead of myself. Hubby wants new and that has to wait a couple of years. I was trying to decrease the time line by buying used. In my defense hubby kept asking for more information which lead me to contacting people. The whole situation would have been different if he had said no to start off with. I am embarrassed and have had to apologize to several people.

I have a hard time believing that the boat is ever going to happen. I still enjoy reading here. So I wanted to apologize to those I offended

I dare say you must be Canadian. No apologies necessary- keep your dream alive!

Re: My apologies

Hey, no need to apologize. Most people here, at least 99 per cent, are excited to give their opinions on boats (or anything else). Me included.

My family is looking to sell the house and buy a boat, so I have always enjoyed your posts. There is something to learn everyday for all of us.

Feeling more at home...now that is a scary thought! I am american but have been over seas six years. Anyone know when oil and gas are going to do better? My boat purchase is waiting on it!

I assume that by "better" you mean cheaper. That's not going to happen It will never again go below $2 for any length of time and will likely stabilize around the $3.50 mark or higher for the rest of our lives

Re: My apologies

Unfortunately I meant the opposite. I am heavily invested in oil and gas and my stocks have taken a hit. My husband works for an oil services company and his stock is half what it was last year. Without collateral the boat will have to wait

Re: My apologies

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it could be years. Saudis Arabia has said they are going to keep OPEC pumping huge amounts of oil indefinatly (I am guessing 2-3 years at least). The conventional wisdom is that the goal is to pop the natural gas bubble, buy up the small producers (and their leases) then cut production. As well as delay the switch to renewable resources while the Saudi Government moves to buy up renewable energy companies.

Sorry if none of us are going to feel bad. We are tired of making Saudis rich.

Re: My apologies

Crisis,
My reading of stumble's reply is that. The Saudis still are going to end up being rich and in the mean time going to put small american companies like my husband's out of business.

Your enthusiasm is infectious, and I suspect the majority of people here completely identify with PES (Premature Exuberance Syndrome) - myself included!
