Morgan 461

Hi all,
does anybody have any experience or heard any feedback of the Morgan 461 ( 1980)
I am looking at one that looks to be in great shape and I'd like to find some more info on the boat

Thanks

Morgan 461

We met Ty and Suzanne Giesemann last year who own a very nice 461. Check out Suzanne's book "Living a Dream" which relates some of their cruising experiences on their boat 'Liberty'. Very nice folks, and would probably help you out with advice if you contacted them. Last we heard they were touring the country in their land boat. We looked at one after discussing boats with them, but they are just too big for us to handle. No problem for them-he was Captain on a USN Destroyer! We settled on a Brewer 44. Good luck.

Re: Morgan 461

I bought Ty and Suzanne's Morgan, Liberty, and live aboard her now. I often single hand her as well. They are solid, well-built boats. The only things I do not like about her is the way she backs up (wicked pull to port due to prop walk and an offset shaft) and the aft companionway design, which makes her too vulnerable to a boarding sea from behind. Other than that she is a great boat and I would recommend one!
