Morgan 45 Starrat and Jenks

Hello,
I'm looking at a Morgan 45 Starrat and Jenks.
I can't find any info online regarding her performance, stability and general behavior. Of course I don't think this info is available online.

I'll be glad to hear from anybody that owns one and have been out in open sea or ocean with her.
To me, it feels that the freeboard is excessive and the location of the water tank(185 gal) under the v birth is too far forward and above the water line.
Some thoughts from somebody that owned one similar to this setup Will be appreciated.
I know that these boats were custom made so there is a lot of difference.
I would like to find those answers by myself through sailing the boat, but I doubt any owner would let a buyer take his boat out in rough weather just fir a sea trial.
Thanks

Re: Morgan 45 Starrat and Jenks

I have always liked the looks of the Morgan 45, but many (Starrat and Jenks) were built with boiler punchings and cement for ballast, as opposed to lead. That leads to shorter rigs, and less performance. Have the broker verify what the ballast is. There is actually some good info on the internet. ___Just my 2 cents worth. ______Grant.

Actually. The boat I'm looking at is from Ann individual not a broker. I will get that info when I see a previous survey done on her. I will be surveying the boat myself, but the thing I can't get its the actual performance in rough weather and calms and light winds alike.
I'm nit a very good Googler, so if you have any specific sources for owners that sailed in open sea, I'll appreciate it.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Morgan 45 Starrat and Jenks

Thank you for that post. I it's a good lead to a lot of info on Morgan s&j.
I will try to contact members who own these boats to see their insight about how well their boats did in various weather conditions.
Thanks again
