I've done that, using old truck tires - the only thing that was available at the moment. If your in a pinch and in a spruced up marina, tie the tires there temporarily and take them off after the weather passes.

Seems like switching slips is the obvious solution. I'm not familiar with your boat but am wondering why she heels so much to a beam wind. Seems to me that the place to start is with that.

Yes!, since the drag on an object is roughly proportional to the square of the speed of the fluid it is trying to block, doubling the windspeed of 106 kts results in a force that will definitely be hard to fathom!
