Moody AC

Been looking at a Moody 45 AC circa 2013 - a post-Hanse acquisition boat. As best I can tell, it is a Hanse Hull which means it is somehow a Judel/Vrolick and a Dixon design. Various brokers have confirmed this.

It seems that the Moody brand is focused on high luxury cabins with lots of push-button options.

Does anyone have a perspective on the Moody brand? Is there any is any real quality difference between Moody or Hanse brands (or is it mostly a badging thing: Chevy v. GMC)?

Recently I had the opportunity to survey and sail a Hanse 470e. A nice production boat with pretty bare bones amenities. The Moody 45 AC is an upgraded Hanse for all intent and purposes. Hanse and Moody's are made at the same Greifswald facility in adjacent plants, they share a lot of components, but different build process' and production rates. The quality, fit and finish of a Moody is a notch above that of their Hanse's. Ultimately I bought a pre-Hanse Moody (Moody sold to Hanse in 2007) built my Marine Projects (Plymouth) when Moody's were High End Yachts.
