Moody 29 vs Sadler 29

I've done a metrics on a number of boats of D/L, SA/D, B/D, L/B, MC, CCSF & AVS ° to decide which to buy (how sad) and am down to a choice of 2. I have heard that both have similar performance but the Moody needs to reef early and can't get as close to wind. I don't want to race but also don't want to struggle when beating in light winds. Much of my sailing will be solo and I want a good performer but with stability having reached the age where I want to be in charge my adrenaline levels. The trouble is all owners are biased but if there is anyone out there!!!!

What are you looking for... a club racer or a cruising boat... thats basicly what those two come down to... its never to early to reef...

I have seen people taking off for their trans Atlantic in the Sadler. If sailing in predominantly light area just get a light fore sail and use it then.

I would not take the bilge keel version unless so dictated by your mooring choices.
