Imagine my surprise when thumbing through this months SouthWinds magazine. I turned to page 28 and there it was... a new sail boat introduced by Hunter. This "whatever it is" tops out at 20mph with a 50 hp engine. Hunter defines it as their new Motor Sailor!! Is this how they are jump starting the power boat industry???

Saw a McGegor planing at about 20 knots(without the waterskier) the other week, looks very strange zooming along in calm waters with a mast (no sails) weird.

I'm using Firefox under XP, and it is correctly refusing to parse the malformatted URL that Rick posted:

Proper URL format is protocol://server/directory_hierarchy/file

The original was a munging of Microsoft/IBM's Universal Naming Convention (UNC), with the backslashes, and of IETF/Internet-style Universal Resource Locators (URLs) with slashes...

Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 catches the mistake and filters it out (just tested it) The downside is that malformed webpages not adhering to standards, continue to propagate. But like Firefox, Opera, Safari, Konquerer currently do, Microsoft in IEv8 will default to strict interpretation of the W3C rules...

Sorry - just had to vent there...

Got buzzed by a Macgregor 26X a couple days ago. It's pretty impressive and a bit weird seeing a sailboat kicking up a wake that you could surf on.

I was jealous that day, it was a Beaufort 0.

I don't imagine that these power or sail very well. Its the rule of design compromises at work here. When you make one thing better, you have to make something else worse in return This type of design has been around for quite some time.

Mmmm... I say to get a powerful dinghy when you want to have that kind of fun (which is sometimes).

Still... I'm glad someone makes them, and someone else buys them. Not my cup-o-tea, but I appreciate the niche.
