I have sailed Nonsuch 26
classic for the past two years in
Lake Ontario. The standing
headroom is about 6' 1", and as everyone realizes there is lots of room inside. Many people have commented that they are more like a 30 footer inside. Interestingly I am often able to keep up and even pass boats my length or longer when sailing. Last year I was away from my
dock for three weeks on two separate cruises. Has anyone mentioned they are designed to be sailed almost flat, maximum recommended heel is 15°? This feature may be very attractive to your wife and others. I have been out in the strong winds healed over, reefed the main, which is done from the
cockpit, then sailed almost flat, with a modest and sometimes no loss of speed. In
Canada this boat is usually
sold for under $30,000. Other sailers, starting with the
surveyor, often comment on the high build quality of the Nonsuch. There is an excellent owners website which you may find interesting. As you can guess I highly recommend a Nonesuch 26 classic.
