Hi. When I was in high
school I cut the patterns and did some lofting for Bret Marshall on his first
boats. He said he didn’t have
money to pay me right away.
Then he found out my father was an attorney and magically I got paid. LOL
Boatbuilders were not making lots of
money back then.
Beetle Cats were still
wood. Concordia Yachts was where I learned to build
wood boats. Jackie Kennedy married Onassis but she had a wood Beetle Cat and was a good sailor. They sent her boat to
Greece.
I helped build a Fenwick Williams wood catboat. Lot of very skilled wood boat builders near my home town of Dartmouth.
You could find real big wood catboats all over
Cape Cod. Huge interiors. There is a great book ...The Catboat Book...what else would you call it.
The
fiberglass boats were no improvement over wood. I just never liked glass. But...
Congratulations on your boat. Happy trails to you.
