In 2013, Ensenada's Baja Naval yard did good work (2 friends/2 boats hauled out while we were in Ensenada and had good experiences).

Cruiseport Marina in Ensenada was excellent (especially the staff).

Re Catalina: I recall October mooring ball price of $44/night.

Indeed! Only 30 ever built...what are odds? Had a look at ALULA online - some interesting differences with FALCON but otherwise could be sisters...as in fact they are. Falcon VII is hull #4 - same yard. Built in ‘82, launched in ‘83.

The current winter rate in Twin Harbors for 40ft is $124 a week. For southern Cal that is a pretty good deal.

Yes, a good rate if you wish to stay 3 or more nights. Couldn't find out when "Winter rate" begins.

40-49' boat is $61/night, minimum 2 nights. $366/week except Winter $124/week.

All this talk about marinas and moorings... if you are new to cruising in more remote areas, now is the time to start anchoring out full time and developing your skills and testing your systems while about it. Any lacking bits can be quickly sourced in SD... not so much in Baja

Used to be a regular shuttle between Ensenada Cruiseport Marina and Downwind Marine in San Diego.

Likely different (non existent?) during current COVID-19 situation!

La Paz has multiple decent chandlers, but definitely not as easy as San Diego.

NOTE TO OP: if you are planning to moor Falcon VII while at your La Paz property, marina prices are high (and priced in US$).
