Late 90's Tartan problems?

In my search for a 40 foot cruiser I keep coming back to the Tartan 4100. In my price range there are several available in the late 90's. I thought I read there was some concern with Tartans of this period, I am correct? How would I know if a particular boat had/has some of the concerns? Any info would be helpful.

I have never heard of any problems with any year Tartan 4100. I believe what you might have heard about, was a problem with ONE Tartan 3700 that got blown way out of proportion hear on the internet...just my $.02
