Question LA area marine surveyor?

Can anyone tell me of a surveyor in the LA/San Pedro area who is known to have experience with Newport 30's or Catalina 30's? Names would be helpful, thanks.

His name is Ron. His email is

badwrench@verizon.net

His address is in Oxnard. That is between LA and the ocean.

Super nice guy. Tell him the Clipper Marine 32 ketch aft cabin sent you.

This will refresh his memory

Sado is good, he did our Catalina 30 and would definitely be my number two choice. First choice would be Mike Pyzel, who just did our Valiant. Either would be excellent. I know Pyzel surveys all over southern California.

Re: LA area marine surveyor?

Called Ron on Sunday, he surveyed the boat the next day. Helped the truck driver ready the boat to go to Nebraska. Coggs tires in Oxnard told me my six tires were rotted and needed replaced. Ron told me coggs was ripping me off (he said it in a kinder way) and told me I did not need tires. I did not need a written survey, and he only charged me $200. He saved me $1,100 in tires!!!

He found only two things wrong, one a small hole in a boom, and one thing with engine, minor part. On going over the boat completely after it arrived ( & I mean completely) the only problems with the almost 40 year old boat had was the things he told us was bad on the sailboat.

The rigging was a shambled mess, and he figured out it was all there and accounted for on a ketch sailboat. He missed nothing!

I would recommend Ron 100% and coggs tire 0%.
