Kirsten Neuschafer's Folding Ladder?

Can anyone tell me what type ladder she is using at the 3:45 mark of this video?

Btw after she gets in the water she appears to be hanging on with one hand 100's of miles from the nearest boat with her boat sailing along on autopilot.

Its the sort of ladder you would normally find on a dive boat. It can be used by scuba divers while wearing their fins.

Yeah that's right but I haven't be able to find it on my searches.

It's quite simple and small and would be perfect for my boat.

If you liked that part check her out at the top of the mast with the spinnaker up at about the 5:38 mark.

It's just an ordinary fin-on dive ladder. If you do a google image search on "transom ladder fin" you'll find a number of styles.

Yeah thanks, but I'm finding similar ones with a folding dive ladder search but haven't found that simple ladder she has that appears to fold all the way up possibly to the stern railing on a boat like mine

Try searching without specifying folding. I'm finding a whole bunch of options out there. Defender lists a few, it looks like Garelick makes one, etc. Searching with folding seems to only give the extendable options, rather than rigid ones that flip up like in the video.

Yeah I've tried folding, swing, rotating etc.

Maybe hers is custom made or something local

Plus I don't want to pay $250-$400 for a simple little ladder

That last part is the big thing. The cheapest one I saw in my quick search was in the $200 range, most were more.

$150-$200 is fine if it will rotate but many just telescope and I don't want the ladder hanging down off the stern in big seas unless it can get up even with my short stern

Re: Kirsten Neuschafer's Folding Ladder?

Looks like a custom made dive ladder IMHO. I have designed one and have had it built. Also, have bought the type that slip into a bracket and are completely removable. This second type attaches below a swim platform and is difficult if not impossible to put into place while underway.

Re: Kirsten Neuschafer's Folding Ladder?

Would like to know if a second person is onboard when she goes out on the ladder.

If she is solo and offshore the amount of unnecessary risk she is assuming is immense. It is unimaginable that someone would put themselves in that position for little or no gain. Massive downside and little upside. I personally don't see the point. That said, some folks are missing a part of the brain that assesses risk and reward. It looks like she has got away with high risk acts to this point in her life.

Pretty nuts how she bathes. Loose grip and your gone...
Even if she trails a line (I do not see one) no chance to pull herself back on board at that speed.

Was my first thought too. I didn't see a trip line to point the boat into the wind either.
