Re: Just a few photos...
Very pretty. How does loose foot on mainsail effect the sailing performance?

Re: Just a few photos...
To be honest this is the first boat I've sailed of this size, so I can't really compare it to a mainsail with an attached foot. I am very happy with the way she sails though, and I enjoy having the roller furling in the main.

Re: Just a few photos...
I think a loose foot mainsail would be more efficient. It's the curve that gives you your forward motion. Straighten the curve on the bottom and the sail is less effective.

Re: Just a few photos...
Very nice DDabs. Makes me want to get out
on my boat right now. Too bad I'm nowhere
near it.

Re: Just a few photos...
Adventurebound:
I respectfully disagree. If the sail is built
properly, a closed foot can be every bit
as good as a loose foot main. Mine was
built with a 'shelf' that flopped over on
each tack. The sail carried its proper
shape all the way down to the boom.
It may be the same principle as the
winglets on passenger jets.

Re: Just a few Photos...
The boat looks terrific! But how's your wallet after being in the yard? In my case I have to go sailing after the yard. There's no cash left and wind is free.

Re: Just a few Photos...
Idora, the boatyard ended up costing much more than I expected... I should have known. The boatyard blues!
