Jeaneau voyage 12.5

Hi there! We are going to check out a 1989 jeaneau voyage 12.5. Anything I should look at specific for this boat?? Any horrendous or amazing experiences for this particular kind of boat?? Any comments welcome!! Thanks

Check for disintegration of the foam in the headlining, chech for foam disintegration in cushions and mattresses. Check for crazing in the plexiglass. Get batteries load tested. Check for wear in cutless bearing, rudder post. Trial hoisting the sails Examine the entire surface of sails checking for broken stitching, fraed edges and tears at pressure points. Operate anchor winch under load. Operate every swith and piece of eqipment. That's a start.

Windows on the top and side. Check for leaks. If there are signs (quite likely) look at the plywood behind for rot. Everything can be fixed, at a price. This is a nice gig boat with good woodwork.

Just in case people stuble over this post while googling for the boat. We found out that there was no one comfortable seat downstairs. I believ it is one of the last of the jeaneau that does not look like plastic fantastic but the all round seating area and the very short seat do made it impossible to sit comfortably. A real real pitty as we were kind of ready to sign.

You are probably looking at the one on Long Island "Monkey Biz"?

I'd wonder why it looks like the floors are refinished and there appears to be water intrusion up the companionway and bulkheads. Also why the motor is so rusted.
