Re: Island Trader 38 Opinions

gentle men never sail to weather. isnt part of comfortable cruising, is a racing maneuver. these will maneuver into a slip easily. rofl. they actualluy have a smaller turning radius than advertised in the [panning blurbs.
leaky teaky-ites DO complain about our boats--on the site. there are pictures and diagrams on how to repair these boats and other useful information, no9t just braggi8ng rights. anyone wanting to own one should check it out for the repairs and line drawings presented.

Re: Island Trader 38 Opinions

Well, these comments are from a catamaran guy, so take it for what it's worth. We had one of these boats in our marina for a year of so and I managed to spend some time on her. I honestly can say I fell for this boat big time. The craftsmanship of the teak in the cabin is amazing as is the aft cabin in the center cockpit models. Sure she's no racer, but she's heavy and stable and a remarkable design that anyone would be proud of.

The boat I'm speaking about is owned by a couple in their 80's and they had no issues sailing the boat. If I ever decide to leave the dark side and buy a boat with just one hull, I would seriously consider one of these.

Well hello everyone. My name is Denny and I found this VERY OLD topic last night, saved it's location to another computer and just finished it. Darned good info here on what looks like the boats I am giving HIGH consideration. And I will be looking at the "Leaky-Teaky" group next and going from there. Looking forward to reading more from the "cat herder" too.

"Deadcat7382",,, did you buy the 38 you started this topic about?

Is anybody down there?
