Island Packet 380 vs 370

Im looking for opinions about the 2 boats relative to each other, not To other boats.
What confuses me about them is that the 370 is a newer model, yet has a significantly higher d/lwl, and significantly lower sa/d. Seems counter intuitive to me.
Thoughts?
Not interested in the slow upwind and lousy pointing discussions that seem to follow in the wake of IP threads.
