Is Beneteau Oceanis 38 Suitable for Cruising?

I understand that she is not Island Packet or Hallberg-Rassy but still... Has anyone taken an extended trip on Oceanis 38? How did you equip her for that adventure? How did it handle a really bad weather? Did you get by with the available storage, tankage, etc? Does the cockpit (which looks really nice for being on an anchor) feel safe while out there in the ocean with 20 Ft waves?
