Insurance claims when chartering?

I'm considering chartering a sailboat and have been thinking about insurance. Up until now, all I've done is purchased a damage wavier, but I really haven't actually reviewed the insurance policy when I'm chartering. I kind of take it for a given that the charter companies like DYC or Moorings have a robust insurance for their boats.

Have any of you actually had to file a claim on a boat when you chartered? Am I being overly cautious if I ask the company for a copy of the insurance policy to confirm it covers me and see the limits of coverage?
