have you tried going to boat shows and looking at all the boats there?? talk to folks there - make a list of what you want and go from there - we met one family from ireland that sailed a 36 or 38' boat down to the med, around the med, crossed the pond and now sailing the us east coast and the carib -- there are 4 kids and 2 parents --
If you want all the kids to have their own berth, a washer/dryer, a water maker big enough to run a washer/dryer, a generator big enough to run all that, ect ect then your budget is way way to low - with your requirements you may want to look at a trawler
if you want to keep your budget just becarful that you do not get a boat that meets your requirements but maybe is not a real offshore boat.

Some of the Moody 44 and 46s have 3 cabin layouts. Friends have one and they seem to find a bed for a small army when they go sailing. You will have to go slightly older, but well within budget.

Hi,

I have sailed a HR 46. I know this one up close and personally - she is for sale now, immaculate condition. Fantastic boat.

HR 46 sails VERY well and is safe, comfortable and fast. I was in fact surprised in how well she did on the crossings as I was converting the boat's polar (to use it in routening software) and I then thought the SA / displacement to be on the low side. Life showed I was wrong in my guess.
