ICW St Johns River to Ameila Island

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in that part of the ICW? We're currently on the St Johns waiting for slack tide at the turn tomorrow and are considering going north to Amelia Island instead of south...Any issues with a 37' with a 6' draft?

Thanks!

Re: ICW St Johns River to Ameila Island

We did it about 4 weeks ago with a 6'3" draft. It's doable.

After wacking into a sandbar in the middle of the channel on the magenta line, (just north of the free floating docks north of the Sisters Creek bridge,) I opened up Active Captain and followed it closely into Fernandina.

Now, by "wacking," I mean I didn't go up on the bar. I hit it and bounced off, just after sending Mrs. Flare from her seat in the cockpit, about 7' foreword into the cabin bulkhead.

But it's doable. Follow Active Captain and it will be easy.

ETA: I just looked at AC. It looks like the shoaling is at 30* 26.691'N. 081* 26.994' W.
