The
wheel setup on Special
Delivery is called a Whitlock (now owned by Lewmar) Reflex
Pedestal, a $2000 upgrade. The advantage is that the
instruments on the
pedestal are all reachable without sticking your hands through the spokes of the
wheel and having your arm broken by the
autopilot. I have a
chartplotter display, an
autopilot control
head, a Vetus thruster controller and a
remote VHF mike all mounted on the pedestal. The
boat new cost $1.5m all up. A new
Hylas 56 is about $1.1m +. My
boat will sail circles around a 54 and an
Oyster 53. This boat has never not placed in the 7 Carib 1500's and Atlantic Cups and has had first overall finishes and multiple first place finishes in both. I beat a bigger
Oyster once by 48 hours on corrected time. I reduced the
price 100k recently as I am anxious to sell the boat as we don't use it any more as I have had to move back ashore for
health reasons. Since the
Annapolis show it was shown at Strickly sail in
Miami. In preparation for that show, exterior and
interior teak have been redone and the entire boat was professionally detailed. I am looking for any reasonable offer.
