Hull/Vin number

I am in the process of getting a title for a Catalina 25. I can not seem to find the hull/vin number. Most of my previous boats had the numbers on the starboard aft. There is another Catalina 25 in the yard and no numbers on it either. Any help would be appreciated

If the boat was built in the early 70's it won't have a HIN on the transom. They weren't required back then.
