With a few exceptions wooden boats have always been built as a labor of love, with care, by very skilled craftsmen. In my opinion the fiberglass
boats built in the 50's & 60's were, for the most part, built by these same craftsmen to the same standards. However, by the 70's market forces & profit motive took over in a lot of the industry. Hull blisters
due to cheap
resin are just an example of the poor quality some builders were exhibiting in this era & it did not stop in the 70's.
