How Do You Make Your Cockpit 'Comfy' ?

On my Corribee I used to prefer the down side of the boat - but I guess helps that not a lot of boat to look over Did a bit of experimenting on lounging position - found lying back against cushions propped against the push pit and using a leg to steer with remarkably comfortable . But not so good if needing to move quickly. or to tack

A few months until I need to make any hard decisions on my current cockpit lounging area (but have considered most things up to Armchair ).........but on the Aft Deck I think I have room for a Deckchair. I think. I hope - must check if I got a remote with that Autopilot

Nope, you're not alone......all this talk of bean bags on the high side is making me nuts.........Never have I looked at a bean bag and thought "self, how am I going to sit on this thing and brace myself on the high side?". Nope, put the beanbag in a lowside fore or aft corner and simply make a nest (a level nest)

I still think a bottle of Pusser's or Bundy and lime increases the comfort level in the cockpit exponentially...

Sailmonkey has it figured out.
Sitting on the low side isn't going to materially change the level of heel on a cruising boat.

With our monohull, when on watch offshore, I'd sit in the beanbag propped against the forward bulkhead of the cockpit behind the dodger. Perfect spot!

At anchor, you can toss it anywhere that looks like a good place.
We used to put ours on top of the anchor windlass! With feet up on the bow pulpit we could look down over the sides of the bowsprit and enjoy the breeze.
No matter where I placed it, when I got up for any reason, within seconds it had been taken by our cat !

The bigger the boat gets the less vision you'll have on the low side....but i agree its the most comfortable.

Agreed, but that's why I posted "offshore".
It's not that big of a deal to get up every 20 minutes and do a 360, check the radar etc.
