HMS Victory
Wasn't sure where to post this, but since it's a monohull,,,,,,,.
A look inside in a way that gives some real perspective of what such a ship entails, both in building and the crew needed, (and the food they consumed).

Re: HMS Victory
Wow, thanks!!
I rarely sit through even a 3-minute YouTube video. This one kept me glued to the screen.

Re: HMS Victory
That is a good video. Watched it the other day. A staggering amount of oak required to make the ship.

Re: HMS Victory
6,000 trees - a veritable forest to make a single ship. Loved walking through her at Portsmouth, like stepping around history.

Great details. The sequel needs to show her giving a broadside!

Re: HMS Victory
I have a "Hanes Manual" (you are showing your age if you know what they are!) of the HMS Victory. It's very detailed, and pretty cool to read. I've done 2 tours of the Victory. Was there a few months ago again, but closed for restoration.

Re: HMS Victory
Saw that last week. Fascinating.
Imagine how many ships they built before they were able to get it that refined.
