Ttying to get ahold of a ladder to reach the backstay turnbuckle will keep you all posted.
FYI its not that I didn't listen to some of you...i had already tried several things before
posting.
Tried tying halyard to dock cleat, then tried tying it to
deck cleat(ripped it out, have to fix now, tried tying to shackle near the roller(bound up in roller and actually increased tension, tried tying to toe rails(halyard crosses over forestay at tjis angle and increased tension)
Tried looping
rope thru the shackle on the
furler and the
anchor rode roller several times to increase
purchase whilst one person pried up on the pin with a screwdriver and another pulled down on the forestay(almost worked)...
Todays
game plan is try loosen the backstay turnbuckle. If that doesnt
work i will try an
electric winch...
If thay doesn't
work i may try on of happymds mai tai techniques.
