Re: Heat goes up and down on Volvo Penta

Thank you all for your input.

Checked the water intake and cleaned the manifold and heat sensor. The temp still fluctuates but not as much!! The needle still goes to the red then back in middle or less, depending on rpms.
Need to eventually flush the cooling system but there's so much build up, doubt it'll make a dent.

The engine is from late 70s and still runs. Just amazing.
