Halberg Rassey 38

Hi,
Brand new to the forum... We are looking for an off shore boat for the two of us to take across the pacific, etc. Anyone have thoughts about a Halberg Rassey 38... 1983. We have heard that we need to watch out for defective chain plates... Let me know what you think. Thanks,

You might check the HROA HROA Discussion board :: Index . There aren't any posts in the 38 section, but a question in one of the general interest sections might be helpful.

There is a Yahoo group dedicated to HRs -- log in (or register for free) on Yahoo and search for Hallberg Rassy. The Yahoo group is very active.

The best resource for parts and other kit for HRs is Vickie Vance at HR Parts (HR Parts and Accessories).

There are three HR brokers in the US (Seattle WA, Essex CT, and Deale MD). All are pretty good at providing information to owners and prospects.

Finally, the US owners group has a website at Hallberg-Rassy Owners of America , although mostly an East Coast and only sporadically active group.
