pirate good place to buy a sailboat

hi i would like to buy a sailboat and was wondering if anybody knows if there is like a foceclosure way of buying a sailboat. Or auctions etc. What would be a good website to look for used boats. Am looking for a cheap one in good condition for a one year coastal cruise from florida around south america and up to oregon.

That is one heck of a trip, better sit down and figure out what it will really take to do it first.... You need a "super boat"

Well maybe not a bad idea at first, but after you think about it the people that get a valuable boat foreclosed are not going to be the ones that devoted extraordinary care to the boat. A neglected boat might just be your worst nightmare.

Yeah... Two things struck me: One, you're talking about sailing around Cape Horn, in a cheap boat? Two, the way I understand it, it's near impossible to sail north up the West Coast due to the Pacific current heading south. I have been told that most sailboats have to go west out to Hawaii and then pick up the currents that sweep down southeast.
