Getting work done on yacht in Alcaidesa Marina

H, Looking for some receommendations for marine engineers to do some work on a Rival 34 in Alcaidesa marina where boat is currenty on the hard. Also need Morse controls repaired and seacocks serviced and/or replaced so boat can be splashed and moved to more affordable yard in Portugal. This marina do not like owners doing DIY I believe and charge for outside contractors to do work on boats but anyone with experience of a good trusted engineer who can work there would be appreciated. Dealing with this from the UK due to C19 and dont want to get takenfor a ride.

Many thanks Andy

The yard doesn't want DIY and charges outside contractors because they are a full service marina and have services available. Is there a problem hiring them?

Re: Getting work done on yacht in Alcaidesa Marina

Hi Shrew, thanks for the reply. It is helpful to confirm my suspicions and there is no problem using the services in the yard as long as they are competitive. Charging something like €50 a day for an outside contractor and not allowing DIY means they have a bit of a monopoly and could charge whatever they like. Some comfort that the yard do a good job and charge a competitive rate would be helpful. Thanks. Andy
