Generator breaker won’t stay Ontario just the

I’m crushing for a month and half way through yesterday my generator breaker kicks off. There are two breakers one for charging and one for A/C. The generator runs fine and the ac breaker stays on and it runs fine....I

Si fat fingered my question. The charging breaker won’t stay on but the ac breaker does......any ideas?

I assume you don’t have access to shore power. If you did, you could test the battery charger and see if it works. With only the generator as power source and assuming that both have the same rating, switch the breakers. If the previously “good” breaker now pops, the problem lies with the charger. If not, the problem is likely a bad breaker. In this case, at least you can now charge the batteries until you find an electrical supply store.

Ed,
Thanks the suggestion, that is a good sequence to remember......I got lucky and traced the battery cables to the generator battery switches. There were separate positive and seperate negatives for each breaker.....one negative was corroded...I cleaned it well and it fired up......I do appreciate the respone and will remember your idea when I need it......which as we both know is just a matter of time

Breakers are known to wear out with heavy loads or constant tripping. I suggest carrying one or two spares for each value that you have. That way, if one is suspect, it can be easily replaced to see if that solves the problem.
