I was cruising the ICW and heard a funny noise from time to time. After a couple days, I realized that it was a frog in my rolled up bimini top. Eventually the noise stopped so I assume he (she) jumped ship at a marina.
I've also had a small bird hitch a ride for a couple hours on a large sound.

Re: Frog in the boat.
Once, not long from returning to Florida from the Bahamas, I raised my main and a Curly-tailed Lizard jumped to my deck and then into the St. Johns River. There's a good number of island species that boats have brought to Florida.

I had a little one show up and he went below and almost immediately tucked his head under a wing and went to sleep. I assume nearly dead from exhaustion.
He stayed there for at least a full day as we were crossing the Gulf from Marathon to Panama City. He jumped ship sometime in the night as we arrived at PC

Re: Frog in the boat.
Some people keep frogs as pets. In north Florida I have one the shows up most evenings at dusk. It is a female as it never croaks. I have seen it eat a few bugs. In the morning I do have to sweep any frog poo away.
I do not know where the frog spends the hot Florida days.

Ohhh, man! Don't chase off the gekkos... they eat bugs, and think of cockroaches as sunday roast dinners. They be yo friends!
Which would you rather have, a nice cuddly gekko, or cockies?

Re: Frog in the boat.
Had a frog that got into the AC unit on my boat in Florida and died. Had to take the unit apart to clean it out. The smell was quite rancid. Also had an exhausted bird land on the boat when crossing the Ionian Sea. I placed a hat over it until we were near land and then let it go.

Re: Frog in the boat.
Tree frogs in the cockpit! They dropped down from an over hanging branch.
Reticulated water snake asleep wrapped in the chain around the roller. Poured buckets of water on him to no effect. Harder to wake than a 16 year old girl.
But SQUIRRLES, #%*!!! squirrles. Had the boat on the hard in New Bern over the summer. Went to go out Cape Fear inlet, raised the main and HOLY S@"T! Three big holes, up to 18" long and 6" wide with brown stains. Got repaired yesterday. Still smarting over that one.
There'll be stew on the menu for Christmas.

Re: Frog in the boat.
Squirrels
Rented my house while I was in Germany, first two tenants were fine, the last however was not.
One of the problems was they had a pet squirrel, kept it in the green house where they put last years Christmas tree, it ate through the side of the sliding glass door and gained access into the kitchen, where it ate through the edge of every cabinet door and the cabinet frame.
