Fortissimo 33 by Norlin of Sweden...

I just returned from a trip to Sweden during which I sailed the Stockholm Archipelago on a Norlin design, Fortissimo 33', built 1984. The owner is very active in the Swedish Cruising Association and Fortissimo club and was keen to learn who may be the owner of the only one known to somewhere in the US. Is there any possibility someone could steer me to a means of finding that boat?

I had a great sail on that yacht - a wonderful design for archipelago sailing.

Hi Bob, maybe the fortissimo isn’t there anymore. In 2005 I bought a marieholm 33 (fortissimo) in Annapolis MD. The name was Free Spirit and I shipped it to The Netherlands the year after. The boat has been on the Baltimore boat show in 1984(5?) and sold to a family in, I think, Baltimore. As far as I know, that was the only fortissimo in the US. We sail it now with much pleasure in the European coastal waters. To know if there is any other in the US or Canada you can ask the fortissimo clubben in Sweden.

My wife and I own the other stateside Marieholm Fortissimo 33 Hull #187 built and purchased by us in 1986. We must sadly now find another, younger family to assume loving ownership of our Fortissimo and I would be happy to be in contact with any Fortissimo sailing or cruising club in Europe, if you have a link to share.
